^Well, You mentioned Steven moffat, but in fact, he was insulted/annoyed with David Yates comments of  "Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch,"

Steven Moffat then tweeted this:   "Announcing my personal moonshot, starting from scratch. No money, no plan, no help from NASA. But I know where the moon is - I've seen it."

Unless he's a moon enthusiast, he was putting that in relation to Yates' comments.

I am interested in seeing a Doctor Who movie, but in doing a Movie Movie, it's obviously trying to get American audiences introduced, so it may in fact change from what I would expect Doctor Who to be like. But with Moffat's apparent dissaproval, it may not happen. Of course, that won't stop BBC.

And the previous films are alright, not horrendous, not amazing, just alright.

I try to ignore the existence of the 1960's Peter Cushing movies. Other than the TARDIS and the Daleks they really don't have anything to do with Doctor Who proper. I mean, the Doctor is HUMAN in them and his last name is actually WHO. Not cool.

The '96 telemovie had it's moments but was saddled with an ordinary script and in the end wasn't much more than a shallow attempt to entice US viewers to the world of DW. But at least it (mostly) stuck to the premise of the original BBC series, and Paul McGann was a good choice for the 8th Doctor. Ultimately it was a wasted opportunity but fun to watch now as a curio. Eric Roberts' overacting has me in stitches every time.

I used to think that a big-budget film adaptation of Doctor Who would be the ultimate, but now the Davies/Moffat series have pretty much sated the fanboy dreams I had of seeing Doctor Who with complex scripts, strong performances and quality special effects. Of course I'd still be the first in line for a DW movie, and it would be kind of interesting to see how it could be condensed into a 2 hour film with wide commercial appeal. I'm not holding my breath though.

Have you finished season 6, yet?

Like you though, I have avoided earlier movies.
Batiatus: "Not every venture ends in climax."
Lucretia: "A fact known well to every woman."

Kind of butters, I missed half an hour of the final episode so I'm waiting for the box set to be released so I can catch up. All in all it was an excellent season though, up there with S3 for me.

What about ''The Stand'' movie that Yates was meant to be doing? And which I actually wanted to see!

I like the show, but this Doctor Who movie is a lame idea. Yates, get your ass back to "The Stand".
